Aims of the School

The motto of Tír na nÓg Primary School is "Labora Et Ora" - "Work And Pray".

Indeed, the ethos of Tír na nÓg is that of a Catholic School where the partnership of the home, school and Parish and extended family are of paramount importance.

Tír na nÓg aims:


1. to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, appropriate to the needs and stage of development of each pupil in accordance with statutory requirements.

2. to help children acquire Christian values within a secure and caring environment.

3. to provide a range of experiences and opportunities which allow even child to achieve the highest level of spiritual, moral, cultural, intellectual, personal, physical and social development of which he/she is capable.

4. to help every child experience success at a level pertaining to his/her ability.

5. to foster the development of personal qualities such as self-confidence, independence and self-discipline, enabling children to co-operate with their peers and appreciate the achievements of others.

6. to help the children become responsible members of the community showing self discipline, caring for others with respect for life, property, opinions and beliefs.

7. to maintain a friendly, professional working relationship between parents and teachers and promote closer links between home, school and the community.
